LaFontaine, the man whose voice graced 5,000 movie trailers and nearly 350,000 commercials, died yesterday at the age of 68. A legend in the field of people who talk over moving pictures, LaFontaine is perhaps best known for coining the trailer phrase "In a world." But his legacy is much greater than those three little words.
Last year, when RadarOnline.com interviewed LaFontaine, he told us that he was also responsible for bringing "No way out," "Nowhere to run," "Nowhere to hide," "A one man army," "A vicious killing machine," and "A roller coaster ride of excitement," to the masses. LaFontaine's ability to keep us entertained for two minutes while we're supposed to be doing something productive at work will be missed.
