TAKING ONE FOR THE TEAM Klum (Photo: Getty Images) Heck of a weekend, huh? In fact, between all the news about the death of capitalism and week three of the NFL, you probably missed a lot of vitally important entertainment coverage. Here's a quick recap:

Performers Travis Barker (the former drummer of Blink-182) and disc jockey DJ AM (also known as Adam Goldstein) were the only survivors of a horrific jet crash in South Carolina. The pair were badly injured but are expected to survive. In an unrelated incident, Emmy co-host Heidi Klum also sustained damage, injuring her bottom in a pratfall. She wasn't the only one to make a brave show at the awards ceremony, as cancer survivor Christina Applegate's presence proved cathartic for the hundreds of Nicorette-chewing celebrities who attended the event. At the box office, Samuel L. Jackson's Lakeview Terrace pulled in $15.6 million over the weekend, which is not a lot, but was enough to put it in the top slot. (My Best Friend's Girl, the latest attempt to somehow convince anyone over the age of 14 that Dane Cook has actual talent, made a paltry $8.3 million, which is still $8.3 million too much.) And People's decision to drop major dollars for the first photos of the latest Jolie/Pitt brand extensions seems to have paid off: the magazine's website passed TMZ in visitors for the first time last month, making it the second-biggest celebrity news destination site. And George Michael was once again arrested in a toilet. Okay, you're caught up.
