Tolkien Estate Drags New Line into Legal Ring

ENFORCERS Hobbits Watch your knee caps New Line Cinema execs. An army of hobbits, hobbit lovers, and dorks of ever order—the J.R.R. Tolkien Estate and Lord of the Rings original publisher HarperCollins—is gunning for you. Representatives from the author's estate have their loin cloths in a twist, saying the movie company has failed to pay a cut of the gross profits from the films based on J.R.R.'s trilogy. The profits add up to $6 billion worldwide. The Tolkien estate is seeking $150 million and might try to block the rights of the studio to produce a planned two-film "Hobbit" prequel. AP via Breitbart
