Young and the Restless Creative Underclass

Few people have failed upwardly as successfully as Toby Young. The British journalist parlayed his disastrous six-month stint at Vanity Fair into a lucrative cottage industry: first came his best-selling book, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. Then came a one-man play, at the Soho Theater in London. Now, seven years after the book first hit shelves, Young's tale of professional failure will finally appear on the big screen.
A party celebrating Young, thrown by fellow British ex-pat and Gawker media overlord Nick Denton, will be held this Wednesday at the Soho House in New York. The invite, above (larger shot after the jump), is even written in Vanity Fair-style font! Graydon Carter, the Vanity Fair editor who hired Young and later compared him to "a piece of gum that's stuck on my shoe," has already said he will be unable to attend because of a "previous engagement," but stars Kristen Dunst and Simon Pegg will supposedly be in attendance.
