SACRED COW Albrecht
No Hollywood big shot is safe within the so-called Thirty-Mile Zone patrolled by the website TMZ—unless he works for the company that owns the site.
Earlier today, TMZ posted a story on the arrest of HBO chairman Chris Albrecht, who was picked up in Las Vegas early yesterday after he was allegedly observed having a "physical confrontation" with his girlfriend in a parking lot.
Though news of Albrecht's arrest is all over the Web, TMZ quickly took its version down. The page with the story is no longer linked on the home page, and the article itself has been deleted, though the reader comments for some reason remain.
TMZ, of course, is, like HBO, owned by media giant Time Warner. Asked why the story disappeared, a TMZ producer promised to look into it and get back to us.

UPDATE: A TMZ spokeswoman says the story's disappearance was the result of a technical glitch. It has now been re-posted on the home page—at the very bottom of the page, actually, meaning it will conveniently slide off the page within minutes.
