Time's 'Person of the Year' So Obvious Even Emilio Estevez Called It

THE JOCK Emilio unveils his concept last month Is America's most-trusted newsweekly taking its cues from Repo Man? Back on Nov. 14, Emilio Estevez was one of five panelists invited to debate who ought to be Time's Person of the Year.

Asked for his pick, the Bobby director (and Men At Work co-star) asserted it should be "You," on account of how people power is changing the world. "I think that we need to examine our global village, and I think we are a global village now more than ever," Estevez explained to RadarOnline.com.

Fast forward to Saturday night, when Time announced on CNN that the Person of the Year was, in fact, You (helpfully illustrated by a mylar mirror). A Time spokeswoman insists the magazine's editors were already keen on the idea before hearing it from Estevez (and from NBC anchor Brian Williams, who also nominated the second-person singular for the cover but, unlike Estevez, didn't go the extra mile of mocking it up.)
