Here it is: the 17-minute conversation Sarah Palin sat for with CNN's Drew Griffin. You don't have to watch the whole thing—in fact, we'd recommend against it—but the transformation from just a few weeks ago is rather remarkable. Where once the Alaska governor was obviously ill-prepared and incompetently obfuscatory, now she can dodge questions and repeat talking points with the best of them. You still get the sense that she's always one answer away from saying the wrong thing, but the previous "can't bear to look" tension has dimmed quite a bit, which we suppose is something of a victory for her. (The highlight of this one, in case you're interested, is where she dismisses the investigation which found that she had abused the power of her office by calling it "Tasergate.") In related Sarah Palin news, it turns out she "charged the state for her children to travel with her, including to events where they were not invited, and she later amended expense reports to specify that they were on official business." File that one under "family values," we guess.
