Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will have a movie next Thursday,
just in time for her 54th birthday on November 14th.
In a film touted as the first ‘Musical Docu-Tragi-Comedy,’ 31 year-old
Devin Ratray (Home Alone, The Surrogates) attempts to win the Secretary
of State of his dreams.
With advice from notables like Entourage’s Adrian Grenier — who
suggests, “You have to find a way into a more tender part of her” –
Ratray comes face-to-face with people from Rice’s past, few of whom
addressed those rumors that he is wasting her time, given her reported
personal interests. (According to The First Post from December 3,
2007, Rice “was completely out as a lesbian” when she was Provost at
Ratray knew his pursuit wouldn’t be easy. According to Condoleezza’s
former friend Rick Upchurch — former wide receiver for the Denver
Broncos, who she saw while attending the University of Denver — it’s
not easy pursuing a woman “who chose power over love.”
The film was completed despite the Bush administrations attempts to shut
it down. Even Karl Rove wanted to pull the plug a week before production
“While filming in D.C. we were raided by the State Department whose
agents (allegedly) left a bug under our table,” believes Sebastian
Doggart, the film’s director.
Was Devin successful in his attempts?
We’re not tellin’.
