Chuck Close, Uma Thurman and a world famous Sri Lankan movie producer were among the luminaries gathered last night at New York's Whitney museum for a gala celebrating its latest exhibition, Picasso and American Art. Later, the group moved south to socialite clubhouse Double Seven, where even the most jaded night crawlers lost their cool when Mick Jagger appeared in the early hours of the morning.
