Tuesday night was Ladies' Night at The Four Seasons in Manhattan, and by that we don't mean Us Weekly editrix Janice Min got frisky after her two-for-one peartinis and showed a bit of leg. Unfortunately. Instead it was an "off the record" panel for female editor-types hosted by Mediabistro and dubbed, painfully, Dinner & Dis(course). Get it? We don't.
The topic of choice for the evening was "What Nobody Tells You About Being Editor-in-Chief," a panel gab-fest with Min, Glamour's Cindi Leive, and CosmoGirl!'s Susan Schulz. Despite the night's many adversities, we did manage to eke out a few shreds of substance. Most of the editors, for example, are skeptical about new media, particularly this ghastly thing the kids call blogging. "Everybody says print is dead," said Schulz. "It's so annoying to me." And, like your mom trying to elbow in on this newfangled social networking thing, Min confessed she was scared when she heard that there was a Facebook group for her employees. "I wondered, would they be bummed if I invited myself?"
