Forensic Witness Says Spector Innocent

  • A forensic scientist brought in by the Phil Spector defense team claims that, based on his analysis of evidence, the cause of Lana Clarkson's death was suicide. Questioned by the prosecution, Dr. Werner Spitz revealed he was being paid $45,000 by the record producer, which he noted was much less than the normal rate for his services. Dr. Spitz came into the public spotlight as an expert in both the investigation of the J.F.K. assassination and the O.J. Simpson trial. His testimony regarding Clarkson's death refutes that of Dr. Louis Pena, who performed the late actress's autopsy and declared the death a homicide. CourtTV
