Ari Fleischer Sticks it to Scooter

MESS WITH THE BULL ... Fleischer He may no longer be White House Press Secretary, but Ari Fleischer is still spinning. CNN is reporting that President Bush's former mouthpiece and author of Taking Heat: The President, the Press, and My Years in the White House, testified at Scooter Libby's perjury trial that the former Cheney chief of staff shared Valerie Plame's identity with him three days before Libby told investigators he'd learned it from a reporter.

"I think he told me the name," Fleischer said under cross examination, directly contradicting Libby's claim that he got Plame's name from NBC's Tim Russert.

According to CNN, Libby's attorneys "blame bad memory for any discrepancies in what he told investigators and a grand jury and say he may have been distracted by urgent national security matters."

Yeah, tell it to the judge.
