BREAKFAST SAUSAGE FEST Guest of Honor Jon Peters When you think of Hollywood denizens who have a positive effect on the lives of young people, you don't usually think of Jon Peters. But the Superman Returns producer and his ex-wife, Mindy, will be the guests of honor on May 3 at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Youth Foundation's annual "Salute to Youth" dinner. Save the date cards went out this week.

With his history of divorces, rehab stays, and disturbing sexual harassment accusations, Peters, the multi-talented hairdresser behind Caddyshack and Batman, has not led the sort of life that typically garners accolades from civic groups. Perhaps it helps that he was a big contributor to L.A. sheriff Lee Baca's election campaign?

As for his ex-wife, some might wonder why she would want to appear in public with him after the ugly allegations she made in their 2004 divorce. In a court filing, Mindy Peters claimed that her then-husband threatened to kill her, tore a clump of her son's hair out, and slammed him against a door. She also recounted an incident in which Peters "approached the breakfast table where the children were seated, unzipped his pants, and removed his genitals. In our presence, Peters proceeded to masturbate."
