Conservatives Were Against McCain Before They Were For Him

As conservatives of all stripes came out of the woodwork last week to praise John McCain, it was hard not to remember a time when he was the scourge of the party, shunned by traditionalists for his maverick, independent ways. Nowadays he's being praised as "an independent man who thinks for himself" by the man responsible for claiming that McCain is the crazy gay father of a black child. But President Bush isn't the only prominent Republican to undergo a recent change of heart. McCain's gained supporters among those who once hated his stances on immigration, taxes, gay marriage and ethics reform. Check it out:
