Bush And Palin Show What Makes America Great

Couple of clips for your morning viewing pleasure. First up is the aforementioned address on the economy by George W. Bush. If you've only seen quotes or transcripts, you owe it to yourself to watch the real thing. It's astounding. At one point he actually says, "See, in today's mortgage industry, home loans are often packaged together and converted into financial products called mortgage-backed securities." You almost expect him to take a couple of apples out of his pocket and attempt to use them as part of a demonstration on deleveraging. It's like watching an imbecile trying to teach an economics course to a hall full of halfwits.
But there's more! Below, please enjoy Katie Couric's interview with Sarah Palin. It will put you in mind of a cat playing distractedly with a mouse before finally getting bored and slamming the thing into the wall. (That point occurs toward the end of the first half, when an impatient Couric suggests that all of Palin's talking points are nice, but could she provide, you know, some specifics? To which Palin replies, "I'll... try to find you some and I'll bring 'em to ya." You do that, Sarah! We'll be waiting here!)
