Six years and one day after 9/11, millions are taking comfort in the fact that Bill O'Reilly has finally identified and cornered America's true enemy: Brian De Palma, the director behind Scarface and the controversial new movie Redacted, which earned the filmmaker the award for Best Direction at the Venice Film Festival earlier this week. The movie depicts the loneliness and isolation of life on the ground in Iraq and culminates in the rape and murder of a young Iraqi girl by occupation forces.
Bill O unveiled his findings about De Palma's treachery to America last night during his 9/11 anniversary show. While the program began as a meditation on how 9/11 changed America, O'Reilly quickly went into a free-associative rant that linked De Palma to everything but the Kennedy assassination. Sayeth Bill, "De Palma admits he made the film to hurt the Iraq war effort ... De Palma is a vile man and "Redacted" is a vile film ... If even one new terrorist enters the fight and kills an American, it's on Brian de Palma ... During World War II, President Roosevelt, the liberal icon, would have put De Palma in prison."
While those in the overextended intelligence community will likely praise O'Reilly's use of IMDb to fight terror, there's one big problem: Unless O'Reilly is a master of pirated flicks on bit torrent or somehow convinced the target of his rage to send him a special screener, he couldn't have actually seen De Palma's film. The Redacted world premiere was two weeks ago in Venice, and has not been shown domestically since.
UPDATE: A FoxNews spokesperson tells RadarOnline.com that O'Reilly watched three to four clips from the movie. Length of the clips was unknown.
