The Dark Knight Curse Is Real

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE Batman
Morgan Freeman's unfortunate car accident has lead to talk of a "Dark Knight curse," a terrible hex which is responsible for the bad things happening to the cast of the Batman movie. Heath Ledger, you'll remember, overdosed. A technician was killed during filming. Christian Bale got shovey with his mom. And then poor Morgan. It's enough to make you wonder.

While some scoff at the idea that there's a voodoo jinx hanging over the heads of the Dark Knight team—particularly because people have car wrecks and OD all the time and, really, who doesn't want to smack his mom every now and again, especially when she's asking for another handout?—a quick perusal of the cast list shows that not only is there a curse, it's far worse than we knew. Which other players are standing under the dark cloud of the Dark Knight? We've assembled a list of the victims and their afflictions.

Aaron Eckhart will never be a leading man.

Michael Caine is forced by a power he does not understand or control to take any crappy role he's offered, so long as the money's right.

Gary Oldman is doomed to see every performance he gives for the rest of his career compared unfavorably to his early turns as Sid Vicious and Joe Orton.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is regularly terrorized by misspellings of her surname.

Nestor Carbonell is unable to live down the shame of having been a supporting player on Suddenly Susan.

Patrick Leahy always gets trapped in the corner by Russ Feingold during the Senate after-parties, where he is forced to listen to endless lectures on the evil of money in politics.

Anthony Michael Hall will work for food. And has to.

You forgot that Nathan Gamble, who plays adorable James Gordon Jr., has twice been nominated for a Young Artist Award, AND TWICE LOST

In the defense of protecting Batman, it should be noted that he did not "smack his mother around" but actually just yell at her and maybe use some profanities, unfortunately the MSM has not picked up on that part of the story and it just makes Bale seem like some out of control crazy.

A control crazy who LIKES TO BEAT HIS MAMA. Or so I read.

stop talking s*** about my man, Bale! I hope he starts suing all of the media outlets that keep saying he "hit" his mom, because that is not even what's alleged....the allegations were assault, not battery, get your legal terms straight ignoramuses...

"Aaron Eckhart will never be a leading man."

How undeniably true. Ignoring, of course, his leading roles in: Thank You for Smoking, In the Company of Men, The Core, and Suspect Zero. Besides those.

Yeah, those really burned up the box office charts. Who DOESN'T remember the seven-week period where "Suspect Zero" was the number one movie in America and all the magazines had Eckhart on the cover with headlines like "Is This The New Tom Cruise?"

Idiot.

balk, kiss my batlovin' a**! if my mother-in-law talked s*** to my hub about me, i HOPE he would respect me enough to call her on it and kick her out if she didn't know when to stop! bale's known in hollywood to be a true gentleman, why is this the first time we've heard anything negative in all the years of his long career? because the jealous haters are comin' out of the woodwork now that he's finally gettin' his due! that's why!
