City Yanks Anti-Groping Campaign

jackoffposter.jpg
Good news for New York City frotteurs: They're free to continue their rubbing and groping without being stigmatized by finger-wagging public service ads. This morning's New York Post reports that NYC Transit has been "sitting on" a campaign "to combat deviants who grope or molest women on the subway" out of fear that it may actually encourage such behavior. A similar campaign in Boston (example above) resulted in double the number of rubbing reports in that city, although Massachusetts transit officials claim the rise is merely a function of greater awareness that someone grinding up against you until he busts a nut is unacceptable.

While New York's transit authorities had gone so far as to create mock-ups for the campaign, none of them were ever printed, and the ads are currently in limbo. Some of the unused slogans:

• "If you see something, don't come on something."

• "WARNING: My skirt has herpes."

• "When we asked you to let riders get off first, this wasn't what we had in mind."

• "The only pole you should be holding is the one in the middle of the car."

• "Thank you for not jacking off on my leg."

They're both effective and direct, right? We hope the MTA reconsiders its decision: we'd love to see a deterrent campaign of this magnitude explode all over our subways.

Or a halting, grinding, metallic voice that repeats on a loop...Please stand clear of the moving sleazebag as trains enter and leave the station. Thank you.
