Christie Brinkley Wins With Fashion

PRAY FOR PEACE, ACCESSORIZE FOR VICTORY Brinkley (Photo: NY Post)
Just how did Christie Brinkley finally get Peter Cook to reach this morning's surprise settlement in their nasty divorce case? Maybe it was her savvy divorcee fashions that finally persuaded Cook and his lawyers to cave.

Today's settlement is considered quite the victory for Brinkley: "I've won custody and decision-making, and that's really all I ever wanted... I'm very pleased with the results today." In addition to keeping custody of little Jack and Sailor, she also gets to keep all 18 of their properties in the Hamptons.

Even before the settlement was announced, earlier today both The Post and Women's Wear Daily noted the four time divorcee's model divorce court fashions. WWD notes that "If justice is blind, Christie Brinkley certainly hasn't gotten the memo.... Armed with a uniform of crisp button-down shirts, dainty cardigans, and figure-hugging pencil skirts from Ralph Lauren and Prada (with a little Gap mixed in for soccer-mom street cred), Brinkley has onlookers wondering what Cook was thinking..."

The Post observed that Brinkley had been wearing peace-sign earrings and "Om" necklaces, encouraging a peaceful settlement through her accessories. Seeing Brinkley in all her peacenik garb, we couldn't help but be reminded of another blonde wife whose astute accessorizing helped her win big in court. We are talking, of course, about Anna Nicole Smith, may she rest in peace. When Anna appeared before the U.S. Supreme Court in the battle over her late husband's fortune, she donned huge cross necklaces. The former Playboy girl looked so Christian and classy, the Supreme Court justices voted unanimously in her favor. Whoever said "justice is blind" just didn't know how to accessorize.

Comments

First of all, yes, Christie has been married 4 times.....whatever. That has NOTHING to do with what her stupid, idiotic, low life soon to be ex has done. His selfishness has resulted in all that's happening now to him. Unfortunately, Christie is not the ONLY one heartbroken. Their beautiful children will have to live with this mess too. I speak from experience as the jilted wife with children who didn't deserve to be put through the same thing.
