"Whitney Thompson last night became the first plus-size winner in the history of America's Next Top Model," reports the New York Post. "This is what people should look like," she tells the paper, "rather than skin-and-bones, which is disgusting and sends a bad message to people everywhere." She's absolutely right, and despite the rising rate of anorexia and other body-image disorders in this country, it's a message that we don't hear enough from people in the spotlight. It's a valuable reminder, and it makes us feel terrible that we're going to end this post with the line, "Thompson celebrated her victory by eating Tyra Banks."
