SECRET SIGN? Vito in his bomber
People on Staten Island and in Brooklyn are all too familiar with scenes of beleaguered Rep. Vito Fossella showing up to events in his bomber jackets (brown leather for winter; green nylon for summer)

But this week, amid revelations that the freshly nicknamed "Vino" fathered a love child with former Air Force Lt. Col. Laura Fay, Fossella's sartorial habits take on new meaning:

Look closely at the symbol on the right breast of the jacket: It's an Air Force logo. One Fossella observer told Radar, "I once asked him if I could take a picture of him because I liked his jacket. He said 'Thank you. A good friend of mine in the Air Force gave it to me; it's very special.'"

We'll bet. Let's just hope Fossella's gorgeous and long-suffering wife, Mary Pat, took them to the cleaners regularly. It will have been good practice for a possible divorce.
