< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Steven Tyler's Dancing Feet Send Him to Rehab
FEETS DON'T FAIL ME NOW Tyler That's Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler's excuse for seeking treatment at the Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena, California, per a press release we just received from his publicist. (Coincidentally, it's the same facility where Dr. Drew works.) "The doctors told me the pain in my feet could be corrected but I would require a few surgeries over time," Tyler is quoted as saying. "The foot repair pain was intense, greater than I'd anticipated. The months of rehabilitative care and the painful strain of physical therapy were traumatic. I really needed a safe environment to recuperate where I could shut off my phone and get back on my feet." Sounds reasonable enough, except it has already been reported that Tyler is headed to Las Encinas for substance-abuse treatment. Now, we're guessing the substances Tyler abused were prescription painkillers used to deal with the foot pain caused by his "trademark athletic performance onstage," so his statement, while misleading, is indirectly accurate. But for future reference, it's probably better that your publicist work out the details of your supposed malady with the press before sending out a release. On the plus side, "AEROSMITH has no plans to stop rocking. There's a new album to record, then another tour." Advertisement |
