The bombshell revelation that old lady journalist Barbara Walters carried on a torrid affair with black Senator Ed Brooke in the 1970s came as a surprise to everyone—except maybe Geraldo Rivera. On Fox and Friends this morning, the totally ethical reporter actually implied that the tryst was perhaps due to the fact that Walters has a particularly insatiable case of jungle fever. "Once you go black, you don't go black," Rivera noted, before quickly attempting to cover up his remark by laughing like a hyena and finally admitting he thinks she's still pretty hot.

Even more shocking is that Walters actually had a sense of humor about the interracial aspect of the affair. According to a copy of her upcoming memoir obtained by the Washington Post, Brooke used to joke that Walters was "the oldest women he had ever been attracted to," to which Walters says she was tempted to respond, "Oh yeah? Well, you are the blackest man I have ever been with."
