Wailing Britney Gives $25k to Idol Cause, Promotes Huge Batch of Clients

smallbrit_041008_FRESH.jpg
Britney Spears was so moved by Idol Gives Back last night that the grounded star called "all on her own" to give $25,000. That's almost 17 weeks worth of allowance! "She watched the show and cried for like two hours over the children in Africa with malaria," a source tells Life & Style. "She didn't know much about the disease, so she Googled it. She was horrified to realize kids were dying from mosquito bites. So she went online and donated after getting [her dad] Jamie's permission. She used her Amex." Who is the marketing genius behind this one? Google? Amex? Ashton?

Maybe there was just nothing good to buy on QVC.
