Tiger's Hamptons Home Buy Hose Job

I BOUGHT WHAT, NOW? Woods
It makes for one hell of a page-turner, The New York Post's claim today that Tiger Woods has purchased a $65 million Gin Lane spread in the hoity toity Hamptons. But it's dead wrong, the listing agent for the property tells Newsday's Real LI column and Woods reps tell Radar.

The purchase would have made Woods our nation's premiere space hog. He already owns a 10-acre, $40 million estate in Jupiter Island, Florida, and is building a 16,500-square foot behemoth in Dubai. "It is hilarious ... I don't know where this comes from," Beate Moore of Sotheby's International Realty tells Newsday's Laura Mann, who adds that the agent confirmed Woods was neither the buyer nor seller of the property.

The 5.9 acre property has a 420-foot strip of beach. The Colonial Revival-style main house is 13,200 square feet (about 14 Manhattan apartments) with six bedrooms, a music room, a cypress paneled library, and staff quarters. The guest house, at 7,500 square feet, is bigger than most homes you'll ever own and has three bedroom suites and additional staff quarters. Though it's equipped with a 60-foot seaside pool and tennis court, the dead giveaway that Woods wasn't moving is the glaring lack of putting greens (or even a putt-putt course). Then again, why bring work home?
