Gawker weighs in on the controversial LeBron James Vogue cover, noting the photo's similarity to a "First World War army recruitment poster—urging loyal Americans to destroy a 'mad brute'" which "features a Kong-like gorilla with a right arm holding a weapon and a left gripping a virginal white beauty. It's much like the position basketball star LeBron assumes on the Vogue cover." Apart from the fact that Kong first appeared in 1933, well after the war, it's pretty damned interesting. The blog is demanding that photographer Annie Leibovitz confess to the 'inspiration'; as of now, she has not commented.
