< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Latest Salvo Lobbed In 'Anonymous' War on Scientology
TAX THAT ASS Cruise "I am calling on everyone to make a couple of phone calls and write a couple of faxes to your district's Representative," it writes. "The purpose of these calls is to call for an investigation in to the circumstances under which the Church of Scientology received their tax exemption, to call for the unsealing of their secret agreement with the IRS, and to ultimately show that they have violated said secret agreement, and should no longer have their tax exempt status." A message left with a COS spokesperson was not immediately returned. Anon (to friends) suggests those with some spare time read up before contacting their rep on reports that the Church intimidated the IRS to secure its status. The Church should pick on someone its own size. UPDATE: A Church of Scientology representative got back to us early Wednesday morning with a lengthy response. The full statement was laden with specific, potentially criminal allegations against Anonymous that aren't proven and could not, in fairness, be printed. The pertinent parts after the jump ... "'Anonymous' is a cyber terrorist group engaged in a hate campaign against Churches of Scientology and its parishioners [goes on to allege violent and criminal charges] ... Their most recent call to action fits into the same pattern. "Every Church of Scientology and all related social betterment organizations in the United States are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as tax exempt, because they established that they are organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. This recognition followed a two-year examination of unprecedented scope and depth, the most extensive of any religious organization in the history of the IRS and was reviewed by Congress. The results of the IRS examination are a matter of public record and are available in the IRS public reading room in Washington D.C. "The 'Anonymous' letter writing campaign is ill-conceived and without foundation. Its entreaty to its members to 'not be afraid to give an alias' provides insight into the real purpose of the campaign. It is inextricably intertwined with the hate crime and hate speech they are perpetrating."
evertything I've heard from scientologists long on drama and dreadfully short on facts. I've read dianetics same thing applies I would love to see one double blind study or independent analysis that backs up the claims of dianetics LRH and CoS. I've looked, I've asked scientologist but they don't seem to be anywhere. for example I've found "studies" about Narconon's great results but when I look they are simply studies by scientologist about scientology I'm asking those scientologists out there with all this great technology can you cite one independent study that substanitates CoS claims???? Posted by: neologizer on March 4, 2008 3:59 PM I would love to see one of them demonstrate the amazing powers and abilities that come with advanced OT levels. Oh well, maybe after they complete the "Super Power Building" down in Clearwater Florida Tom Cruise will finally get his wings. Posted by: invitevoid on March 4, 2008 11:37 PM Charitable activites? LOL. In scientology, nothing is free. If you want to be "saved" scientology-style, be prepared to fork over hundreds and hundreds of thousands of $, or if you can't come up with that kind of dough, to work as a virtual slave for the rest of your life. If you are poor, and you need to keep an outside job to support a family, you are out of luck, and not worthy of being saved. Every wonder why there is not a Co$ "church" in south-central LA or the Bronx? Posted by: suzette on March 5, 2008 12:01 PM IF YOU DON'T WRITE

Posted by: curious1960 on March 5, 2008 5:18 PM Advertisement Oh I'm writing them all Scientology should be taxed like they work- A for profit pyramid scheme that benefits the leadership Posted by: neologizer on March 6, 2008 7:06 PM I wrote mine and I hope you all who are reading this do the same. I was a member for many years, even before it was called or run as a church. It's a business, an organization designed to rob you of your money, your loved ones and your life. I woke up and left, as so many others have, but the non-profit status has always protected CoS from scrutiny of it's covert activities, it's gulags that rob children of their childhood, adults of their moral sense of right and wrong and sometimes their life. I can never recover the losses I and so many had because we bought the propaganda, but you can help prevent these terrible things from happening to others by writing your reps now. Scientology is a deceptive cult that is doing all it can to infiltrate our governments with a goal for power equivilent to that of Hilter and Stalin. Posted by: Mary McConnell on March 12, 2008 8:34 AM "The results of the IRS examination are a matter of public record and are available in the IRS public reading room in Washington D.C." I am curious. Are these results a matter of public record and available from the IRS public reading room? If so, what are the details? I'm interested in finding out if that information is accurate, if it is freely available, and what that information itself is. Posted by: Low Inquisitor on May 11, 2008 3:45 AM |
