John Mayer Calls it Like He Sees It

According to his blog, goofy crooner John Mayer is making the rounds in Japan, where he evidently got the chance to do some play-by-play commentary for one of the Red Sox-Athletics games this week. Judging from the clip above, it's unclear whether he knows what sport he's watching: "Lets see what happens when the person pitching starts off the inning ... [pitcher throws a strike] ... And that happens! Apparently it was an "S," according to the board."

Of course, Mayer fancies himself quite the funny man, so we're pretty sure he's joking around. Still, it's more entertaining than about 90 percent of the color commentary currently found on ESPN.
