< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Paris' Anemic Weekend at the Box Office
FLOP Hilton (Photo: Getty Images) An embarrassingly low figure, to be sure, but Hilton should take solace in the fact that she's a bigger box office draw than fellow flaxen-haired bimbo Jessica Simpson: Recall that only six people per theater bought tickets to see Simpson's 2007 opus Blonde Ambition when it opened on eight screens in Texas. Does that mean a movie in which the two share billing would shatter all records for box office incompetence? Or would theater-goers be so morbidly fascinated by the spectacle that they'd actually turn out to see it? We're not really sure, but we're betting that someone will eventually pony up the money to make it happen.
"Paris Hilton is a woman with many talents...." ???!!! Apart from being a media whore, Name one please. Posted by: lbh on February 11, 2008 1:41 PM Media whore is a not insignificant talent! Posted by: twitter on February 11, 2008 3:02 PM Wow - it really would be easier to correct your error than erase the comment pointing out. Let's try again: VARIETY: Paris Hilton starrer "The Hottie and the Nottie" fared even poorly, grossing an estimated $26,000 from 111 runs in its debut for a per screen average of $234. $234 - not $76, Neel. Please shake off those Gawkerish tendencies to shirk timely corrections. ;-D Posted by: animotion on February 11, 2008 3:14 PM Animotion: I didn't delete the comment! Also, the info I got--per TMZ--says an average of $76 per screen. Posted by: neel shah on February 11, 2008 4:33 PM Advertisement Neel copied his homework from the wrong websites. TRY SPARKNOTES NEXT TIME HOMEY. Posted by: moneycashhos on February 11, 2008 5:43 PM yes, but $76 is funnier. fuck you, reality! Posted by: slinkimalinki on February 11, 2008 5:47 PM |
