According to Josh Romney, the square-jawed son of erstwhile presidential candidate Mitt Romney, his father's bid to be the first Mormon president might not be over. Asked by the Desert Morning News about speculation that his father would re-join the race given front-runner John McCain's blondie problem, Josh said it was "possible."

Also making Romney's potential re-entry into the race possible: the fact that he only "suspended" his campaign (as opposed to terminating it), his gobs of money, and his perfect hair.

But despite the carrot dangled by Josh, Republican strategist and former Romney employee Kevin Igoe doesn't see his former boss re-entering the race. "I think it's most unlikely," he tells Radar. "I would expect with the Ohio and Texas delegates added to his total, McCcain would be very close [to securing the nomination]."

Asked if he thinks there's an opening for Romney to re-join the race, Igoe said that he doesn't believe there is. "It seems to me that the New York Times article actually helped McCain with conservatives," he said.

But if there's one thing we've learned about Mitt Romney over the past year, it's that just when you think you have to leave the dog at home, he'll strap the sucker to the roof of the car and drive 12 hours. Which is to say, dude is nuts.
