Brit Now Has Sam Lutfi, Michael Sands, Deep Throat on Her Side

MEDDLE MANAGEMENT Sands and No. 1 client Lutfi
Earlier this week, Michael Sands was a spokesman for Kevin Federline's divorce lawyer with a moderately rad, eagle-themed, Netscape 3.0-styled Web "network." Now he's flipped sides and insists all he wants is to save Britney Spears. Just like his new number one client Sam Lutfi.

Sands tells Radar he quit the K-Fed crew on Monday, leaving as spokesman for attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan (X17online claims Kaplan fired him for, among other things, wearing sweatpants to a court hearing) and picking up as the spokesman for Lutfi, Britney Spears' best bud currently forbidden from coming within 250 feet from her. "We're here to help Britney. This is not about Sam Lutfi. This is all about a person who is bipolar," Sands tells Radar. Guiding his efforts is his own experience dealing with a bi-polar ex-wife, he claims. "It's a freakin' disease, man. Sam is trying to help her."

Why Sands? Because he's the veteran PR genius behind www.celebritydoctor.com, a site where Web viewers can watch live as famous people get facelifts. Because Sands is a self-described "government operative," a Department of Defense contractor hired as the mouthpiece for the military and other agencies (his work actually goes deeper than that, but he can't talk specifics, he says). Because he's a recovering alcoholic who gets what Britney's struggling with, he says—also, he has ADD.

While working for Kaplan, Sands says, he dug deep into Lutfi, having suspected him of being both a drug dealer and a terrorist. To get any dirt he could on the best bro of his boss's foe Britney, Sands called in help, he says, from a longtime source in the "federal government." This is where it gets a little complicated and completely unprovable: Since October, the source tried unsuccessfully to dig up something on Lutfi, presumably using government resources. Then shortly after a chat with his government buddy about his own suffering image (the aforementioned sweatpants-in-court X17 allegation), Sands got a call out of the blue from Lutfi, asking him to rep him. Sands suggests it was his shady black-ops bud who connected the two. "He says, 'Sam is totally clean. I can't explain things now, but I want you to work together.'"

Mysterious. But what about Lutfi's restraining orders, threats of violence, etc.? "I have restraining orders against me." Sands says, insisting Lufti's done nothing criminal. "We're all young assholes. Were all young fools."

And the allegations of drugging Britney? As Sands said last night on Larry King Live, "Sam has been mixing Britney's medication cocktail that bipolar people take.... If he drugged her, she wouldn't be out on the streets running around." Unless he was feeding her speed or, say, Adderall. Britney's hospital trip, Sands explains, was a bad reaction to drugs she was prescribed. "He's removed illegal drug dealers from Britney's environment," Sands says.

Asked if Lutfi was working on any media deals, Sands insists no. "He's been offered millions of dollars," and has turned down every offer. "Sam does not want to be on TV," Sands says. "He wants to manage."

Speaking the the media is clearly Sands ball of wax.
