Adolf and the Seven Dwarfs?

  • In what is certainly not an attempt to scam gullible racist auctioneers, William Hakvaag, the director of an art museum in Norway, claims to have found a series of Walt Disney characters sketched by Adolf Hitler during the Second World War. Hakvaag "said he found the drawings hidden in a painting signed 'A. Hitler' that he bought at an auction in Germany. He found coloured cartoons of the characters Bashful and Doc from the 1937 Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which were signed A.H., and an unsigned sketch of Pinocchio as he appeared in the 1940 Disney film." While Hitler, the world's most famous failed artist, was known to have a print of Snow White, experts caution that much "discovered art" from the Nazi era turns out to be fraudulent. Unless the guy can turn up an autographed sketch of a rumored eighth dwarf named "Jewy" we're going to remain skeptical. [Telegraph (UK)]
