Because nothing says happiness like a statement from a lawyer: Reuters reports that a lawyer representing Vince Vaughn will be suing several papers over claims that his client and Jennifer Aniston have split and apparently not-so-true reports (and photos) of a disheveled Vaughn—who showed up in London in a shlubby sweatshirt with his fly undone—was having a makeout sesh with a "mystery woman."

Questionable metaphor of the day: Former secretary of state James Baker, who is co-chairing the Iraq Study Group for Congress, has warned "there's no magic bullet for the situation in Iraq."

Profits will be available Friday between 8 a.m. and 11 p.m.: Time Warner Cable, the country's number two cable provider, has filed for an initial public offering. Morgan Stanley estimates the company's value at $43 billion—that's like forty YouTubes!
