A semidisparaging campaign flier handed out by a renegade Obama campaigner in Nevada seems to have contradicted that hot, much-ballyhooed Hillary–Obama truce.

Bob Buchanan, a Nevada precinct captain for Obama, made and distributed his own flier to garner the state's Republican and Independent votes in Saturday's Democratic caucuses in the Silver State. The missive urged Republicans to vote in the Democratic caucuses: "You can be a Democrat for one day. ... You can make the difference if you think a Democrat is going to win in November and you don't want Hillary," the flier reads, along with a brief list of reasons voters wouldn't want Hill in office.

Nevada state law allows voters to switch their party affiliation on the day of the primary if they wish to vote for a candidate of another party. Buchanan's flier offers this pragmatic advice: "Vote for Obama and then return your voting status as you chose [sic]." It's just that easy!!!

While politicos initially jumped on the flier as a sign of the Obama campaign's narcissism, the paperwork was a Buchanan brainchild. Unfortunately for Team Obama, they couldn't be bothered to have a gander until after it surfaced in the media.

Realizing that the flier could maybe, just maybe, be construed as negative campaigning, Buchanan has since modified it. "Because Obama is positive, I said, 'Oops,'" he says. He may even resign. "I don't want to screw his campaign up."
