As they had
hinted earlier that they would, this afternoon lawyers for French president
Nicolas Sarkozy and his girlfriend/fiancée
Carla Bruni filed a lawsuit against Ryanair (the Southwest Airlines of Europe) for a newspaper advertisement they ran depicting the two lovebirds. Bruni, a former model and current pop singer, wants 500,000 euros for the use of her image, saying that such is the going rate for her photographs. Sarkozy, on the other hand, wants a single euro for his pic, which in our humble opinion is just about right.
