The comedian, who famously walked out on a $50 million deal with Comedy Central after just two seasons of his hit Chappelle's Show, took the stage at approximately 12:30 a.m. and didn't leave until club management turned off the lights at 4:20 a.m., witnesses tell Radar.
Chapelle's free-association "set," throughout which he chain-smoked, mainly consisted of mimicking characters he'd cast in a hypothetical puppet show staged between the "curtains of Britney Spears' vagina" and talking about the time he was riding his bike while on mushrooms in Bermuda and saw Carl Lewis jogging by (which he seemingly found hilarious because, you know, what else would you expect Carl Lewis to be doing?). Chappelle made time to aggressively hit on the female audience members, too, though not all that seriously—his wife was in attendance. Mrs. Chapelle clearly has a sense of humor: Dave also said that the first time they had sex he was so drunk he pissed the bed, which he jokingly played off as a test to see how "freaky" she was.
Chappelle, who no longer drinks, seemed lucid and in control of his words. Sadly, this doesn't make a resurrection of Chappelle's Show any more likely: he said he's yet to talk to writing partner Neal Brennan since the two had a falling out after Chappelle up and left for South Africa without telling him.
