L.A. Reid's Son: Hova Far From Ovah

Rumors that Jay-Z is set to leave Island/Def Jam, the label he's been at since 2005, intensified today after the New York Daily News reported that Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid doesn't want to fork over the money needed to keep Hov on board. But Reid's son, Aaron—perhaps best known for letting MTV film his grotesquely extravagant birthday party for the network's heinous My Super Sweet 16 series—told Radar last week that Jay-Z was definitely re-upping with Def Jam.

"It's a done deal," he said. "Jay is not leaving. They love him over there. My father loves him. He's gonna stay."

Of course, Jay-Z has denied rumors that he's jumping ship—perhaps to rival Columbia—for more than a year now, so it's not surprising that yet another tenuous whisper has made its way to the press.

The rapper's contract is said to expire at the end of this month. Only time will tell if the words of a spoiled teenager prove prescient!
