A hearty congratulations to former HBO CEO Chris Albrecht and occasional TV correspondent girlfriend Karla Jensen, who announced this weekend at their Christmas party in L.A. that they're getting married!

It's a nice turn of events, considering the couple's many ups and downs. Albrecht, now brokering TV deals for Teddy Forstmann at IMG, was forced to resign from HBO last May after allegedly punching and choking Jensen outside of the MGM Grand Hotel in Vegas following a professional boxing match. (He blamed the booze; she declined to press charges.)

And that wasn't the first time Albrecht's reportedly beaten a member of the fairer sex.

In 1991, HBO was forced into a $400,000 settlement after Albrecht choked and shoved a married female subordinate he was having an affair with. The network has also allegedly covered for slap-happy Albrecht on at least two other occasions, neither of which seemed to impede his rise up the HBO ladder—nor, perhaps more shockingly, affect his blushing fiancée's decision to join him in a walk down the aisle.
