Let's Play Musical Thongs!

WORKING CLEAN Agent Provocateur ad
Just when the world was getting all hot and bothered over the thought of Lily Allen stripping off to star in the next racy Agent Provocateur campaign, the lingerie company pulls a fast one, eschewing the cheeky musician-turned-chat show host for 46-year-old Catherine Bailey, the wife of esteemed British shutterbug David Bailey. Bailey poses as a Lady of the Manor attended to by two young models in French maid uniforms, among them, Gavin Rossdale's love child Daisy Lowe.

Agent Provocateur famously booked Kate Moss for one of their inaugural campaigns. So popular was a video advertisment featuring Kate that it crashed the skivvy purveyor's website as fans desperately clicked for views. Then the frilly brand shocked style-watchers by dumping Moss for Maggie Gyllenhaal. But, as is often the case in Panty Land, things are rarely as they appear. Gossip swirled that Moss severed ties with Agent Provocateur designer Serena Rees because Rees cuckolded her husband and business partner (and Vivienne Westwood spawn) Joe Corre. Kate was hip to the Rees's alleged tawdry affair since it happened with Clash bassist Paul Simonon—Moss's friend.

Now with that nasty flap is behind them, Corre and Rees can get back to doing what they do best—showing semi-famous ladies in their underthings. Once the Bailey campaign has gone public, they say, they'll be revealing new ads starring the rather appropriately named French star and Playboy model Vahina Giocante.

Synergy!
