The Hills Are A Lie

LATEST CROCK Hillies
Admit it: The Hills—MTV's allegedly reality-based (but obviously not!) TV drama—has lost any pretense of character development, plot advancement, or any other reason to keep you from grabbing the remote and seeing what else is on. Unfortunately, the show is the only thing that's keeping MTV afloat, and we'd all hate to live in a world with no MTV, right? So we've come up with a fun new way to enjoy the show: Try and spot the rampant fakery in each episode!

In this week's installment, our protagonists L.C. and Whitney are tasked with going to the Teen Vogue office in New York to deliver a presentation on the magazine's Young Hollywood party to editor Amy Astley. Boss lady Lisa Love informs the duo that they'll be flying the red eye from L.A. to J.F.K. and are to return immediately after the meeting. How business-like! Yet when they arrive at the office at 10:40 a.m. (we know the time because Astley tells L.C. she had twenty minutes to get to her 11 a.m. meeting at Marc Jacobs), our gals are dressed to the nines, looking fresher than a baby's bottom. Love even mentions to Whitney afterwards that she heard her outfit was "very dressy." Come to think of it, it's almost as if the girls looked like they had been primping at the W Hotel in New York for hours before the meeting, and even got a good night's rest. And then there's the fact that the duo were spotted galloping around Manhattan during the day, and we actually saw them at maybe edgy hotspot The Box the night in question. In fact, maybe Love just said they were taking the red eye to appear more dramatic. What if there are actually no hills? Developing!

Comments

Lauren also found the most accommodating cab driver in New York who only needed the street address for Marc Jacobs office, rather than the actual cross streets.
