< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence Chuck 'N' Huck: Norris Backs Huckabee
In his column in today's World Net Daily, Norris declares the former Arkansas governor and chubby guy "the real deal." Given his preference for mowing down America's enemies with gusto, some may have expected the former karate kommando to throw his support behind tough-talking terrorist-hater Rudy Giuliani. Norris, in fact, gave Giuliani a $1,000 check in 2000 when he was threatening to challenge Hillary Clinton for the open New York senate seat. In his column, though, Norris praises Huckabee as a "compassionate Christian conservative" and laments America's "backward culture" in which we "value people by what they do, instead of first who they are." For Norris, the most important quality is a candidate who "has lived a life of integrity, commitment, truthfulness, and respect." Norris goes on to articulate benchmarks that Giuliani has famously struggled to meet: "Mike is a committed husband and father. He has always prioritized his family before politics. His wife, two sons, and daughter speak his highest praise." Stay tuned for more. Norris promises to elaborate on his support for Huckabee in upcoming columns, and if Missing in Action 2 is any indication, the sequel could be just as good as the original.
