Dunst's Fiery Final Scene in VF Movie

After a half a year of Internet gossip flare-ups, Graydon Carter/Vanity Fair-inspired Devil Wears Tartan flick How to Lose Friends and Alienate People wrapped with appropriate chaos.

Shot in the middle of the night in the park under the Brooklyn Bridge—after last minute logistical problems prevented the shoot from happening in Manhattan's Bryant Park as originally planned—the ending (spoiler alert!) centers on romantic lead Simon Pegg running to Kirsten Dunst during a midsummer night's screening of La Dolce Vita, a spy tells Radar. Without delivering too much of the schmaltzy ending, let's say it's like, oh, just about every rom-com ever filmed.

In a semi-hilarious turn, however, the crew struggled to capture a scene where Pegg dives into a fire pit to retrieve a book he regrets having tossed. Our observer lost count at six takes but enjoyed watching Dunst's looks of shock and concern play out repeatedly. Pegg, who seemed to always be on, spent most of the time between takes regaling Dunst with a manic series of impersonations and different accents. The actors dined together in Dunst's trailer and sat together on the sidelines as the crew set up establishing shots, our source says. Coincidental since Dunst has reportedly booted her current rocker beau from her newly purchased flat in London. "Let's just say Dunst and Pegg's on-screen romance seemed natural," the spy reports.
