Condé Nast Folds Jane

COLLECTOR'S ITEM Jane
We're hearing that Condé Nast is pulling the plug on Jane, the 10-year-old women's magazine started by Jane Pratt. Staffers learned of the decision this morning.

Pratt was forced out two years ago as the magazine floundered in both circulation and advertising sales. Since then, Brandon Holley, formerly of Elle Girl, has tried to reinvigorate the magazine, to little effect. Newsstand sales in the first half of this year were down, according to sources.

Calls to Holley and to Condé Nast spokespeople have yet to be returned.

Comments

Jane Pratt was the shit when she was running "Sassy." Best. Girls' magazine. Ever.

Jane the magazine was never that great. Like it was trying to be "Sassy," but for the "Cosmo" crowd.

Too bad it went under, but I don't think I've seen it on the racks in forever, anyway.
