Score two points for the Joels in their battle brewing with Perez Hilton. First, Billy Joel's daughter Alexa Ray does what the litigious paparazzi have thus far failed to do: inspire an anti-Perez movement. After being ridiculed by the blogger, Alexa Ray lays into him earlier this week on her MySpace page for existing solely to "exploit, objectify, ridicule, and degrade public figures for no reason." Perez's tide of typically loyal readers turns as they post 1,156 comments (at last check), most backing Joel and scolding Perez for being unnecessarily cruel.

Now it's dad's turn at bat.

Liz over at TheseBootsAreMadeForStalking shares an interesting story about how Billy Joel, having clearly followed his daughter's pissing match with Perez, mistook a tranny for the soft-chinned blogger. Liz employs a friendly neighborhood she-male who calls herself "Victoria and Everything S.O.S." to snap the occasional celebrity candids. A recent shot with John Mayer caught the eye of Hilton, and in his typical sticky-fingered fashion, Perez stole the photo for a post of his own (two of them, actually), which included a self-deprecating "It's Perez!" note and an arrow pointing at Victoria (thus beating his commenters to the punch).

Later, Vic was snapping a pic of Billy Joel when the teensy troubadour spotted her and came over and said: "You're Perez Hilton!" He thought Vic's pic on Perez was actually the blogger himself, and he was looking to throw down. "No," Victoria said, correcting the punchy piano man. "I'm better than Perez!" No word on whether they went out for beers.
