Fred Thompson So Over Chris Matthews, Midgets

Breitbart.tv launched late last night—it aims to become the video version of the Drudge Report, and its founder, Andrew Breitbart is a likely candidate to deliver on that promise since he helps run Drudge (and manages his own massively trafficked news aggregation site, Breitbart.com).

His new video site starts with a bang: he bags an exclusive interview with Law & Order's Fred Thompson, who might also—get this—run on the Republican ticket for president (inevitable Reagan comparisons pending). He describes Breitbart.tv better than Andrew himself might, saying there's "No place for a candidate to hide anymore."

Other highlights from the debut interview after the jump ...

On the Republican presidential debate (which Thompson skipped): "I didn't watch it. [Laughs] I was on a plane for most of the time.... Ten people and Chris Matthews, that's a challenge for anybody to watch."

On whether Thompson is late to enter the race: "It's too late for me to play by the old rules, even if I wanted to, and I don't want to.... If you can't introduce yourself ... in the length of time that we have between now and the primary season, then you might ought to find another line of work."

On whether he can actually win, Thompson said he wouldn't be talking about running if he didn't think so, adding, "I'm not interested in being the tallest midget in the room."

There goes the little people bloc.
