THAT A GUN IN YOUR POCKET? LaPierre
National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre tells Newsweek in a Web exclusive just posted that Cho Seung-Hui, the Virginia Tech killer, "absolutely" should have been barred from buying a gun under current federal laws.

But the NRA is even going a step further, working with Rep. John Dingle, a Democrat from Michigan, on a bill that would require mental-health records to be included in an FBI database used for background checks of gun buyers, Newsweek reports. Cho was deemed harmful to himself by a judge prior to buying the guns he used to kill 32 people.

"Our position on this is crystal clear: If you are adjudicated by a court to be mentally defective, suicidal, a danger to yourself or to others, you should be prohibited from buying a firearm," LaPierre says.
