From Russia With No Love

CASHING OUT (Clockwise from left) Abramovich, Zhukova, Malandina

Though we may never know the exact financial details of her mega-divorce, Irina Malandina may now be one of the wealthiest women in the world, and certainly the wealthiest former flight attendant.

Thanks to her break from Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich, Irina now lays claim to a large stake of his fortune. And though it was reportedly an amicable split, her choice of lawyers (the aptly named Raymond "Jaws" Tooth and Nicholas "Mr. Payout" Mostyn) might suggest otherwise. Malandina, enraged at her husband's "close friendship" with 25-year-old Russian socialite Dasha Zhukova, was also tired of what she called the zolotaya kletka—or golden cage—the pair lived in.

Though Abramovich's "business ventures" and interest in Chelsea football weren't on the chopping block, among the spoils to be split are the couple's $40 million dollar Sussex Estate, "Fyning Hall," (complete with 28 servants), four super-yachts (Le Grand Bleu, Sussurro, Pelorus, and Ecstasea), a Boeing 767 nicknamed "The Bandit," and significant landholdings in Russia, where Abramovich is governor of the Siberian province of Chukotka (17,000 indigenous residents included).

But who can put a price on freedom? Abramovich is now at liberty to cavort with stunning Dasha (a trained homeopathist, fledgling fashion designer, and UC Santa Barbara grad) from Courchevel to Sardinia to his snow swept (and oil-rich) lair in Siberia.
