Valentine's Day is right around the corner, bringing with it some lonely, angry bitches. Or at least that is what Yahoo's Buzz Log seems to indicate. The site Don'tDateHimGirl, a networking board that allows women to post pictures and stories about men who have wronged them, has jumped over 590 percent in recent Web searches. Though the site has been around since 2005, it's been growing exponentially; seven profiles were posted in the last hour alone.

What the hell are those profiles about? Libel, it seems, disguised in a cute pink veneer. Bitter posters compose dossiers on their exes, filled with glowing commentary like, "Rolfe is a conniving, manipulative bastard," and, "Aaron cheated on me when I was eight months pregnant," along with the first and last names and often contact information of the men in question. The allegations range from the tame ("He'll tell you he loves you, but he's lying") to the serious ("this man is a registered sex offender"), and it is surprisingly all legal.

The site came under scrutiny last June when Todd Hollis, a Pittsburgh lawyer, sued for defamation (his profile alleges that he has herpes, accuses him of lying about giving his mother his kidney, and claims he might be gay). The case is still unresolved—and women are still posting about Hollis (as recently as last week.

As of yet, there is no corresponding site for men to sound off—the promising Dontdateherman.com leads right back to the original male bashing site.

I'm very familiar with this site since it originated in my hometown. I was tempted to post on it but decided against it. I'd rather check it out to see if a guy I'm interested in is on it.

The dating scene is really awful down here. My motto is 'Trust No Man' and 'Everything He Says Is a Lie'. If you go into it with that tye of attitude, nothing will surprise you and you learn to be very careful.
