< BACK TO Fresh Intelligence 'Father Felony' Bilks Flock, Dodges Jail, Scores Book Deal![]() LIVING ON THE LAMB Radic pre-sentencing, post arrest (inset) He's due to be sentenced Thursday, and as forgiving as his God-loving flock might be, many of them have been pushing for a full 16-month maximum sentence. It looks, however, like he won't serve any more than the six months he's already spent behind bars awaiting trial. Instead, AP reports today, he's snitched on a cellmate and cut a deal. Then he cut another deal with a publisher for a book about his exploits—it's the fruit of a lengthy labor that began with a letter to blogger Dr. Blogstein in which he pleaded: I need an agent, so I can get an advance, so I can eat and finish my book.... Can you do anything to succor a former Old Catholic Priest gone wrong? Who simply embezzled, but HAS learned his lesson (the hard way), having been incarcerated with pedophiles, murderers and gangbangers. Not surprisingly, Dr. Blogstein couldn't do anything for the guy. But according to AP, Radic did find a sucker to publish The Sound of Meat, his jailhouse memoir in which he not only owns up to his church theft but many other sins, he's he's said. The book is set to be published by Ephemera Bound on July 30, 2007. Surely, though, a former man of the cloth is penitent over the ordeal, especially as his old congregation struggles to pay tens of thousands of dollars in transactions fees it cost them to get their church back. "I'm spending time with my fiancée, who stood by me through all of this," Radic told Dr. Blogenstein back in July before his sentencing. "I'm also smoking good cigars and drinking wine." Blogstein, not BlogeNstein. Just Blogstein. Posted by: Dr. Blogstein on February 13, 2007 2:28 PM but at least you're the only reporter to credit me one to credit in all these stories as all the information being printed is from my damn site! Thank you, Tyler. Despite the mangling of my name, you are a model journalist. Posted by: Dr. Blogstein on February 13, 2007 2:45 PM Tyler, The Sound of Meat does not contain any account of Randall's church theft and is NOT a jailhouse memoir. Despite the number of online Press Releases on it and an online interview with Randall: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hostpage.aspx?show_id=11153 managing to get it this wrong must surely take not just journalism but writing too to new lows! Unless of course adding a couple of links and applying good old cut & paste nine-grader skills is all that's required to call yourself a journalist these days! Posted by: David on February 14, 2007 7:54 AM It is unfortunate that not one "news agency" provided its readers with material from the exclusive interview with Randall Radic. That information was valid and current; however, fortunately on page 1 of Google news was the link for the download: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hostpage.aspx?show_id=11153 . Thanks to "Radar Online", it seems a few reporters have realized that the Radic interview is newsworthy: the 2 week old interview has had a sizeable increase in requests for the free download.
