Who's Looking Out For Kids? Bill O'Reilly, That's Who

oreilly11907.jpg
YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT O'Reilly
After his image-scrubbing joint-appearances with Stephen Colbert last night, Bill O'Reilly went right back to doing what he does best: contradicting himself. This time, the Fox Newsman can't decide if child molesters are sickos who prey upon the "weakest citizens" and violate them "in unspeakable ways," or if kids actually kinda, sorta like the bad touch.

In his syndicated column today, the Fox News pundit attacked Edward Cashman, the lax (who knows, maybe even activist?) judge in Vermont who failed to properly sentence a felon—the man served just 30 days for attacking his wife with a screwdriver—who then went on to abuse a child. According to O'Reilly, "Allowing a brutal child molester to walk free while getting 'treatment' is certainly not punishment enough for traumatizing a 4-year-old perhaps for life."

O'Reilly also used Judge Cashman of Bennington County, Vermont—an area so liberal morally bankrupt, O'Reilly once imagined Howard Dean going there to run a bed and breakfast (a bed and breakfast!)— as a straw man on his show yesterday, bemoaning the fact that:

Vermont is a restorative justice state. It believes the most heinous criminals should be rehabilitated. Its legislature voted down Jessica's Law shortly after that horrific 60-day sentence from Judge Cashman.

But wait. Earlier this week O'Reilly said that Shawn Hornbeck, the 15-year-old boy who was kidnapped in Missouri might have enjoyed his four-year captivity. Hornbeck's parents told Oprah Winfrey they suspect their son was sexually abused by his alleged kidnapper, Michael Devlin. O'Reilly thinks the kid might have liked it.

In a rant that essentially compares Hornbeck to Patty Hearst, O'Reilly said: "The situation here for this kid looks to me to be a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents... There was an element here that this kid liked about his circumstance."

Did we mention Devlin allegedly had kiddie porn on his computer? Maybe O'Reilly thinks Hornbeck liked that, too.

Comments

I am so sick of people slamming Bill O'Reilly. He is the only one on T.V. that is trying to do something about the Insane Judge's and Prosecutors that what to do nothing about the pediphiles. Don't you people get it. Child molesters cannot be cured! Period! I don't care how many years in therapy they go through. And to think That Vermont did not pass Jessica's law. That in itself is a crime. I wouldn't spend a dime to go to Vermont. If the officals don't care about there own children why would I want to subject my children to the State of Vermont. What I dont approve of is that the parents of Shawn went to Oprah so soon after his being found. I am very mad at Oprah about that. She herself was raped when she was a child by her uncle and she said in her own words years ago that it took her years to tell anyone about it. What makes her think she is above everyone else. I don't see her doing any shows on Child molesters. Bill O'Reilly does care about the children. Maybe he said some things he shouldn't have said but he is trying to draw attention to our Government Officals so new laws will be passed to TRY to protect our children. I salute Bill O'Reilly. I was a victum Of child rape when I was 11 years old so I do know what I am talking about. Thank you Bill O'Reilly.

Unfortunately, ivehadit, Falafel Bill wasn't saying anything about government officials when he "speculated" about Shawn enjoying his captivity. He was parroting NAMBLA. He was suggesting that kids who get abused by adults enjoy it, and want more of it. I don't think that's true, and I suspect you don't, either...

Billo made similar comments about an 18 year old rape victim (She was raped because of the provocative clothes she was wearing.)

And don't forget, Bill paid a whole lot of money to hush up his own dalience into sexual harrassment.

Yes, Billo has helped abuse victims...
But so did Mark Foley.

Benito Musselini made the trains run on time.
He was also a dictator.

Bill O'Reilly, the master of no spin, shot his mouth off on TV with Greta van Sustern (I was watching) and pretty much said Shawn liked Devlin's house/lifestyle better than his own parents. This despite Shawn being kidnapped at gunpoint, sleep deprivation being used on the boy, threats of death to his family and himself, molestation, etc. Then he tries to "spin" his outrageous comments as if he didn't say anything wrong. The man is a liar (no spin zone) and a verbal child abuser. He needs to be fired from his pathetic job claiming to be righteous and zealous for the public.

Bill O'Reilly should be fired there is no place for a person like him except maybe
Devlin should take him home for 4 years.
O'Reilly might like it.
To bad it wasnt ( SICK O'Reilly ) instead
of Shawn.
FIRE THAT FOOL

I think Ivehadit is not running on all cylinders. did you read what you wrote before you submitted? You are defending someone that stated that a CHILD enjoyed what his CAPTURE did to him. I was raped too, and if anyone made a comment about ME enjoying it, I am not so sure I would defend them. Yeah, maybe he has helped children, but he didnt help Shawn. He made an extremely crude, relentless, uncalled for comment. He needs to get off his high horse, buck up and quit contradicting himself and stick with his beliefs. He may be trying to get attention of the Judges and such, but by making the comment he made, he is making it sound as if someone kidnaps someone it is okay, because they "enjoy" it. Who knows what this poor CHILD went through...again CHILD..I am so sure he had the ability to think for himself and stay with his capture by CHOICE. Your entire comment makes NO sense and makes me want to go throw up.
Again, I will state that Bill OReilly is not a journalist...he is a journalass.!!!

Everyone is missing the main point - and that is that the main point of this article is false. I'll repeat it:

"Bill O'Reilly went right back to doing what he does best: contradicting himself."

The piece goes on to defend this view by stating that Bill calls child molesters sick but states some kids might like it.

Neither statement contradicts the other, both can exist as true. Even if it were true that some kids liked the abuse it wouldn't justify the abuse.

Now, if you want to attack Bill's statement that kids might sometimes like it, fine, but the article as it now stands is a complete waste of time.

Thanks for bringing attention to O'Reilly's sickening comments! Here is an on-line petition that requests that TNCFM&EC remove him as keynote speaker at their event in March. Please sign and circulate!

Kilrahi-"[It] looks to me to be a lot more fun..." is what the idiot said. Yes, it is theoretically possible a child might like abuse. It is also theoretically possible, and about as likely, that every person in New Jersey named Bill will simultaneously be struck by lightning on January 1, or that Andrea Mackris enjoyed O'Reilly's phone calls. Face it - Bully Boy is twisted, arrogant and ignorant.
